“Behind-the-scenes” of SITU Research’s latest project with Amnesty International

March 25th 2020

Amnesty’s Citizen Evidence Lab goes “behind-the-scenes” with SITU Research, unpacking how our team developed the SMOKESCREEN platform—an immersive visual investigation into the lethal use of tear gas by Iraq security forces.

In this post, we discuss the challenges in developing a frame-by-frame UX experience, how we bridged citizen documentation with a 3D model of Tahrir Square and our approach to visualizing the deadly impact of tear gas canisters on the human body.
