KPF New York Headquarters Reception

As part of an office relocation of their Manhattan headquarters, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) designed custom furnishings for their new reception area and hired us for design-engineering and fabrication.

Building on a few of the material techniques from our previous work with KPF at One Jackson Square, we produced the doubly curved pieces with stack-laminated bamboo.

Upon entering the space, visitors are greeted at a sculptural reception desk that wraps around the lobby into the office, with several similarly fashioned workstations, benches and storage pieces.

Working in tandem between large format thermoforming and CNC-milling, we finished the top work surfaces with white Corian, which slope downward to become built-in filing cabinets. Small lips in the drawer fronts form subtle handles in an otherwise seamless material.
