SITU organizes expert panel around embracing the role of workplace in civic life

February 25th 2021

Conversations on the “return to the office” all too often stop at the building or campus threshold. If the new normal is any indication, recent work-from-home workflows and emerging hybrid models of companies are inextricably tied to the civic and economic future of surrounding communities, particularly in central business districts.

This panel seeks to reexamine the “return to work” debate by bringing together leaders from enterprise companies, real estate and civic organizations around a central question: how will recent changes in commercial development and the “future of work” shape neighborhoods and cities post-COVID-19? Economically, socially and even physically?

Centered at the intersection of supporting employees, rethinking commercial spaces and understanding urban growth, this panel will discuss how commercial projects can work toward inclusive growth in surrounding communities and create places that support this vision.

Speakers
Aisha Glover, VP of Urban Innovation at Audible
Clare Newman, President and CEO of Governor's Island
Kate Wittels, Partner at HR&A
