SITU Fabrication leads thermoforming workshop at Porcelanosa showroom

On Tuesday, March 26, SITU Fabrication co-hosts a workshop and demonstration on architectural thermoforming techniques at Porcelanosa’s Manhattan showroom. The event is co-hosted by the Spanish-based solid surface manufacturer, Krion.

Together, we discuss properties of solid surface materials and explain fabrication techniques used to produce unique architectural features. We are showing examples of solid surface components at each stage in the fabrication process: from raw materials to the custom blanks, different types of thermoforming and trim molds, failed experiments and finished pieces showing how we overcame design challenges.

A smaller portable thermoforming oven is available during the event for live testing, and attendees can earn AIA CEU credits. Snacks and drinks are provided courtesy of Porcelanosa.
