55M Lobby named Interior Design’s 2021 Honoree for Best Commercial Lobby

The Switzer Group’s design for the 55M lobby in Washington D.C. has been named an honoree for Interior Design’s 2021 “Best Commercial Lobby + Amenity Space” award. This is the 16th year of the publication’s Best of Year Awards.

Our scope included the fabrication and installation of a veneered plywood canopy system for the lobby reception area. Inspired by the neighborhood's Navy Yard history, we detailed a series of louvers to create a compelling geometry that resembles the curvature and structure of a boat hull.
