SITU wins the Center for Architecture's First Annual Pumpkitecture Contest

October 28th 2016

Our "concrete pumpkin void" earned a Pritzker Pumpkin from the AIANY.

The Center for Architecture hosted its first Pumpkitecture! pumpkin-carving contest as part of its month-long Archtober celebration. Twenty practices from the city, including Rockwell Group, Bjarke Ingels Group and Studio Gang competed for the prized Pritzker Pumpkin. For the competition, SITU cast the provided pumpkin in rockite, exploring the form of the pumpkin through it's negative space. The pumpkin, titled "How Much Does Your Pumpkin Weigh, Mr. Foster," walked away with the Pritzker Pumpkin.
